Jeon ( korean traditional food )


This is Jeon and we always eat this on chuseok!!

There are many kind of jeon besides these 🙂

< Ingredients >

7 sesame leaves

3 chillies

3 eggs

flour

salt

olive oil

minced beef 200g

1/2 tofu

1/2 onion

1/4 carrot

1 green onion

1 teaspoon crushed garlic

salt & pepper

Chop carrot, green onion and onion into very small pieces

Crush tofu and drain well

In a bowl,

put minced beef, crushed garlic, a little bit of salt & pepper,

sliced vegetbles and crushed tofu

Mix well

Prepare sesame leaves and half slied chillies ( remove the seeds)

Make small balls with the minced beed

Put some on sesame leaves

and chillies

coat with flour

and egg wash

Fry in a greased pan

  1. I saw a lot of Jeon in the Korean supermarket today but unfortunately it wasn’t clearly labelled which varieties it was so I didn’t buy any.

    We did get some free jelly sweets because of chuseok though 🙂

      1. Thank you, I do sometimes make jeon, so this was more a case of being lazy and tempted…

        Somehow I always end up with way more food than I had initially planned to buy after a trip to the Korean supermarket 😛
